The objective of this course is to outline the principles involved in managing construction projects, against a background of conventional project management. In particular, the link between design and construction, relative to apportioning risk among the various parties, is emphasised. In this regard, the construction risk management process is defined in detail, as well as the need for developing effective risk management strategies. Information technology has an important role in modern construction management, and receives a significant level of attention in the course.

The Course has been approved by Consulting Engineers South Africa (CESA, formerly SAACE) for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and has been allocated 2 CPD points for renewal of professional engineer or professional engineering technologist registration in terms of the requirements of the Engineering Act (Act 46 of 2000)
